Watch Dogs has been given a release date. It is November 19. It will be available on PS3, 360, Wii U and PC “as well as at the launch of the PlayStation 4,” says Ubisoft.
“The game is also planned for other next generation consoles”, meaning the next Xbox.
Will the PC version be the same as the PS4/Eggsbawx 3 version, or the PS3/360/WiiU version I wonder…
Knowing the Ubisoft model I’m betting its cool but rushed to make console launches and ultimately underwhelming.
If it follows the Assassins Creed formulae then Watch Dogs II in 2014 will be awesome!

Yeah. Look what happened to ac when it became famous? They turned it into an annual release game. And instead of naming it AC3, they should have named it AC2.6

It won’t be. Because in the second instalment, ubi will have to put new contents/features in it and they will rush it to make their annual release like they did with ac.
As a side note, the use of lots of gadgets in this game (using mobile phones/ jamming tools) opens up the potential for some decent use of the WiiU controller.
I’d doubt they will care (i’m sure all the focus will be on the Playstation 3/4 and Xbox 360/720 versions) but if they put some time and thought into it i’d imagine the WiiU version SHOULD be the best version of the current generation.
actually I agree with what you are suggesting but this leads me to a solid use of the xbox smartglass app could actually make it feel more immersive on your own mobile phone. Agree that this could use the new tech well, but its not limited to the Wii U. The good news is that if the smart glass app and the wii U controller can do similar things, they the Wii U wont be neglected over the new consoles as the game will be designed with a seperate screen in mind from the start. good news for all of us happy gamers.
My experience with the Smartglass App is that it’s pretty rubbish 99.9% of the time (actually 100% for me but I’m sure there’s SOMETHING useful you can do with it).
I’d doubt that most gamers use it and by the time you combine that with the inconvenience of having to put down one controller and pick up another mid-game I’d be pretty surprised if Ubisoft bothered to integrate it.
That said- if they did have Smartglass support and it encouraged them to put more thought into the WiiU version then I’d encourage that. I don’t own one (yet?) but that console could use all the positives it can get right now!
Wait, a vengeance story? Aww, I was hoping for something much more interesting. I… don’t really know what, exactly, but just -something-. Now this is probably going to be a ‘videogame’ story, instead of an actual story 🙁
