Xbox One Mod Lets You Use PS4, Xbox 360 And Mouse/Keyboard Controls

Maybe you got an Xbox One and your fingers are mourning the loss of the Xbox 360 controllers. They need not grieve any longer. Modders have made it possible to use Microsoft's last-gen controller — or the one that comes with the competing PS4 — with the brand-spanking-new Xbox One. Via Eurogamer comes word of an update to the CronusMax mod — which enables cross-platform peripheral support on a variety of systems — that lets it work with the Xbox One. This latest update comes from the Team Xecuter mod collective. The video above demonstrates CronusMax mod in action, showing Killer Instinct being played with a DualShock 4 and a 360 controller and a few other peripherals. You'll also see Call of Duty: Ghosts being played with a mouse and keyboard set-up.

If you've got a beloved fight stick or favourite WASD hardware that you were going to put away, you might not have to anymore. Be warned that a mod like this might void any warranty for an Xbox One. It's also the kind of thing that Microsoft might be able to eliminate with a patch if they so choose. So tread carefully.

Im ordering it as i love the 360 controller, also getting a peer air to use with my xbox and PS4 instead of using the dodgy vita

If they can map Xbox360 arcade sticks with this then I'm sold. Considering there is only one Xbox One arcade stick on the market right now.

If people can start using mouse / keyboard on the console versions of shooters like COD, Battlefield etc then won't that pretty much ruin the game for people playing with the "proper" controller?

This is a potential godsend for me... having spent as much as I did on my Street Fighter IV TE stick as the 360 itself, I felt some serious anxiety at never being able to use it again when I upgraded to an Xbox One.

I REALLY hope this works as well as it looks and that it doesn't become obsolete with a patch.

C'mon Microsoft! Don't stiff me on this!

I went back and used my 360 and PS3 controller to see how they compare, and I actually prefer the One controller; the 360 controller feels too flat and the sticks are a lot bigger and tighter, while the PS3 controller felt even smaller. There is really no advantage to this for me, as I only ever use a mouse and keyboard for FPS games when forced to.
