Tis a strange week in the video game release calendar. There are about a zillion bloody LEGO games being released, one super major release in the form of Elder Scrolls Online and a Goat Simulator. Even Don Bradman is joining the party. If you need me I’ll be in the corner playing Dark Souls II. Also: crying.
Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate (PC)
What is it? The 2D handheld version of Batman: Arkham Origin, now on PC.
Should you care? This was the best idea ever, and then it wasn’t that great. Which is a shame.
Don Bradman Cricket 14 (360/PS3)
What is it? A cricket game! We haven’t had one of those since that last one that was a complete disaster!
Should you care? If you like cricket and you want a cricket game, might as well go with this one. You don’t have much choice!
Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition (PS4/PS Vita)
What is it? Wait a minute… Dynasty Warriors 8? Surely we’re on a high number than that by now…
Should you care? Ah look, it’s not bad — apparently — but I’d avoid unless you’re some sort of Dynasty Warriors completionist.
Goat Simulator (PC)
What is it? It’s a game about being a goat. A goat simulator if you will.
Should you care? People are going crazy over this. It looks insane.
Halo: Spartan Assault (PC)
What is it? A weird third-person, top-down Halo thing. Was released on console a while back.
Should you care? Yeah sure, it’s not amazing, but strange enough to be interesting.
LEGO Friends (DS)
What is it? One of a million LEGO games coming out this month.
Should you care? If you’re going to buy one LEGO game this month, don’t make it this one.
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes (DS)
What is it? It’s the DS version of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, totally late to the party.
Should you care? If you’re going to buy this (and it is good) buy it on another platform.
The Elder Scrolls Online (PS4/PC)
What is it? This game feels like it’s already in the wild considering all the betas and whatnot. But it gets its official release this week!
Should you care? I think you should care. I suspect most of you have already decided either way.
The LEGO® Movie Videogame (Xbox One/PS4/PS3/360/Wii U/3DS/PC/PS Vita)
What is it? One of many LEGO games releasing this month, but maybe the one you should actually buy.
Should you care? LEGO games, for the ridiculous amount of releases, actually manage to maintain a pretty high standard for the most part. If you have a kid that loves LEGO, you could do a lot worse.

I definitely want to pick up the Lego Movie game. Looks like a lot of fun. My wife was super annoyed it got delayed here along with the movie itself.
Shoulda just ordered it from Ozgameshop, it got released in Europe about a month and a half ago. Just ordered mine from there this morning.

Meh, we didn’t even really know about the game til two weeks ago, we just saw it was still coming soon when it was already out in the US.
Get it, its hilarious and probably the best of all Lego games
However it is short – platinum in 5 days…
differen topc: Its a good week for PS4!
I have a stack of Lego games I need to finish and I swear I will. I originally 100%’d Lego Star Wars 1 AND 2 on the PS2, then bought complete Saga on 360 for giggles and never played it. I also have Lego Batman, Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7, and I will probably also get Marvel Heros and Lord of the Rings before I’m done.
An easy 100% completion doesn’t bother me at all. 😛
My girlfriend and I plan on seeing the Lego movie, then buying the game immediately after. Good times ^_^
You’ll probably be the only people in Australia who haven’t seen it 😛
Already ordered The Lego Movie game, hopefully it gets here by the end of the week.
Might be nice to play Blackgate on a screen where Batman isn’t 4 pixels high.
I’ll probably wait until it’s in a Steam sale.
I’m really looking forward to Don Bradman Cricket. It’s the first cricket game to have the ‘be a pro’ mode. I’m waiting for the PC release in a few months though…
I don’t think the Elder Scrolls is coming out for the PS4 this week…..
Yeah, I’m pretty sure PS4 and Xbone versions are due in June.
Not sure about ESO anymore… the first beta I participated in was amazing, but the last two were less than enthusing… Oh well, I’ve got 35 days to see if I like it, I suppose.
So far it’s pretty good. If you like thousands of ppl on your screen at once and killing all the enemies before you get to see them and/or complete a quest 🙂
Guh… that’s like the last two betas… Enter a dungeon to find it either empty, or to watch as a group of ten people steamroll it as you try to keep up. No loot either, because none of it’s instanced anymore… I was literally unable to cast any spells because they all took longer to cast or reach their target than it took everyone else to kill everything, and my healing spells were useless because no-one was in combat long enough to take any damage. I was literally walking through dungeons doing practically nothing, getting middling experience and no loot. Ffs, if I wanted to wander about as stuff exploded impotently around me, I’d play an FPS.
started ESO last night 😀
also spartan assault has been on Win 8 for ages now? is it just that its coming to non-Win 8 PC’s or something?
EDIT: just did a quick search around… it appears its coming to Steam, well there you go 🙂
Goat Simulator all the way baby!!!!
Bwaahhhhh
I want to get the LEGO Movie game, but this is one game that I don’t want to get before seeing the movie and I’m not sure when I’ll get to the movie…
🙁
…one of them is a little bit stupid, and the whole scene unfolds with a tedious inevitability.
For all seven of us Vita owners, is Ragnarok Odyssey ACE coming out this week? I heard of an April 1st release.
As a new VITA slim owner, you can chalk that number up to 8 😛
Oh, yeah! *high five* Welcome to the club! We’ve got jackets.
