In honour of the tattoo on my right forearm and the celebration of Easter, I present you with a green rabbit with a gun. Makes sense to me.
Jazz Jackrabbit is a 1994 PC game coded by Arjan Brussee and designed by Cliff Bleszinski for Epic MegaGames. It’s a platform shooter, combining the fast-paced movement of Sonic the Hedgehog with the shooting of Shooty McShooterson’s All-Star Shooting Shootacular. The game, distributed via ye olde shareware (first one’s free) kickstarted Bleszinski’s career, enabling him to spend too much money on the old school Transformers I should rightfully have. Also Gears of War.
Hey look, box art (via MobyGames)!
Want to play it yourself? I found it over at RGB Classic Games, playable right in my browser.
The First Five is the first five minutes of a game with light commentary. Once the five minutes are up, so are we.

Jazz jack rabbit was one of my first and favourite games I wish steam would release more ms-dos games, this along with jill of the jungle and commander keen were among my first video games
One of my favourites. I played 2 more than the first and the multi player in that was great.
This, and Sonic the Hedgehog were my first games on the PC, was playing them from the age of 3, I feel more nostalgic towards Jazz Jackrabbit though, good times.
