Bethesda Just Made Some Changes To Fallout Shelter

Patch notes are boring. This is known.

So I don't know why more developers don't do this: create a neat little video that shows all the changes an update makes in real time. Super helpful. Super useful.

It helps when an update is as expansive as this. Fallout Shelter has been a phenomenon in this office. Almost everyone here actively plays this game. Its good that Bethesda sees it as something worth investing in post-release.

I actually think we'll see more of this sort of stuff. We're already starting to see Fallout Shelter linked to the upcoming Fallout 4. Piper, a character in the upcoming game, has been added to Fallout Shelter. I see this sort of back and forth going on long into the lifespan of both games. Could make for some interesting stuff.

And for those of you who don't think patch notes are boring. They are here...

Thanks to Vault-Tec, a new mode, extra tools and new features have been added to protect and perfect your Vault including:
• New Vault-Tec network protocols are finally in place. Now you can save your Vault to the “cloud,” (no moisture condenser necessary!) and continue any Vault experiment on all of your devices.
• Some Dwellers are reporting sightings of a mysterious individual in Vaults around the Wasteland. Vault-Tec is offering a bottle cap reward for any positive identification!
• Faced all the challenges the “normal” Vault simulation can provide? Introducing Survival Mode! More danger, More glory. Make Vault-Tec proud!
• New Vault-Tec directive – Dwellers have been given authorization to scavenge equipment from dead Raiders. Gear up!
• Are you an experienced Overseer who has already undergone Vault operational training? Now you can skip the tutorial!
• In an effort to assist Overseers in running their Vaults more efficiently, Vault-Tec has added a statistics page to the Vault Dweller’s Survival Guide (VDSG).
• Support added for Russian-speaking Overseers.
• Continued general maintenance to the Vault simulation. Because when you speak, Vault-Tec listens!
• Available exclusively on the App Store, all new legendary character Piper from Fallout 4 and five FREE lunchboxes!

    They forgot
    * Now available on Windows phone for Overseers who like unpopular things.

Hey! I like my windows phone.

I friggin love my Windows Phone. Seeing my 930 has convinced my partner to jump off Android and get the 950 when it comes out next month.

But good as it is, popular it is not. I want to play Fallout Shelter, dammit!

Windows 10 phone should change it hopefully.

Also raising my hand here for loving windows phone. Phenomonal OS for phones, saw a friends windows phone a few years ago and was sold.

        Case in point? :P

At least I'm not a sheep?

            Damn those Android sheep, right?

I was going to make a joke about Robots sleeping but then I remembered it was electric sheep. Oh well

Robotic sheep are still plausible :P

It's actually "do androids dream on electric sheep" and I couldn't actually use it

I loved my windows phone, used it for over a year but ended up abandoning ship due to lack of dev and apps.

If they made it universal it would also be available to all those people with Windows 10 convertibles...

Stop teasing me. I also own a Surface.

I installed BlueStacks just for the Destiny app. Not sure if Shelter would run very well through an emulator... on an Atom.

My SP3 is running an i5 with 8gb of DDR3, but android my emulator still runs like someone broke its knees.
Tried getting Shelter to run on it and it just wasn't happening.

      Edit. DP

Link ? Can't seem to find it ony my phone or the windows store, cept the scammy one.

Sorry, I was making a joke about them forgetting it. It's not on WP and probably never will be.

No worries, its plenty difficult sometimes to get the tone over the Interwebs, esp english as a second language.

You actually got my hopes up for a moment there.

    Time and money. Easy.
    Next.

You and your reality are upsetting to me, so I shall pretend they don't exist!

Well. Maybe just the reality. You can stay. Outside of your terrible reality of cost-influenced decisions.

this game was fun for a few days. then it just becomes boring.

Would you watch a TV show where people are put in fallout shelters for a year to see how they cope?

Don't speak for me D: I was excitedly reading through Splatoon's patch notes today. Although that is partially due to the relative novelty of patch notes for a Nintendo game.

    Patch notes are boring

Someone's never read the some of the old patch notes for the Sims games then

I like when devs have a good play with their patch notes. I remember getting a good chuckle out of some corkers in WoW, Rift, Wildstar patch notes...

It's now crashing when I touch on someone waiting returning to my vault. It's happened a few times. Also, not sure what I need cps for. all 3 of my vaults are 999,999... although one is 1,099,999 for some reason.
    Great game

Can you lose in this game? is it an actual game or just a time waster ala tiny towers?
