In a League of Legends match full of moments that were both ridiculous and amazing, Cloud9's Hai and Team SoloMid's Bjergsen may have taken the cake with this incredible nail-biter of a brawl.
I'll have lots more to say about this second-place match between TSM and Cloud9, which was the League of Legends equivalent of a double-overtime hockey game, but this highlight is wild enough to stand on its own.
Context: Cloud9 were trailing badly and on the brink of defeat before they turned a fight at their own inhibitor. Then they crushed Team SoloMid in another mid-lane clash. It would likely have been enough to win the game, except that TSM's mid laner Bjergsen slipped away from the disaster and forced C9 to run back and deal with him rather than delivering the killing-blow.
Saving TSM's base was already a victory for Bjergsen, but then he got the jump on two of Cloud9's players, confused them with LeBlanc's Mirror Image ability, and suddenly had a chance to turn a lost fight into a victory for TSM.
That's a lot of my favourite things about League of Legends right there: the sense of barely-controlled chaos, unbelievably precise "footwork" from both Hai and Bjergsen as they hang onto their last few hit points, all with the outcome of a game hanging in the balance. All Bjergsen needed to do was breathe on Hai and he might have turned that entire battle into a better trade for TSM. Instead, Hai ran the gauntlet, Rush came back to help him, and Hai helped guarantee C9's comeback.
Their win moves C9 into a three-way tie for second with TSM and CLG in the NA LCS.
