This Week In Games: South Park Returns

After a long wait, it’s South Park time.

ELEX (PC, PS4, XBO)

What is it? A post-apocalyptic sci-fi RPG from the makers of the Gothic games.
Should you care? Looks part Mad Max and Borderlands without the stylised look. I’d hold off to see how the launch goes.

Cyberia 2: Resurrection (PC)

What is it? A re-release of the 1995 classic on-rails shooter.
Should you care? If you want to have a laugh playing some absolute trash, grab this. It was bad in 1994 (although it was a nice looking game). It will be hilariously bad now.

WWE 2K18 (PC, PS4, XBO, Switch)

What is it? 2K’s annual RPG franchise for WWE returns.
Should you care? Not unless you’re a diehard fan.

No Heroes Allowed! VR (PSVR)

What is it? An RTS where you try to conquer the world by raising oddly cute monsters.
Should you care? This looks uncannily funny. RTS seems like a real nice fit for VR, too.

Rogue Trooper Redux (PC, PS4, XBO, Switch)

What is it? A remaster of the 2006 shooter, which was based on the strip from the 2000 AD comics.
Should you care? I’m still not sure why this is being remastered to begin with. Rogue Trooper was fine, but it wasn’t a classic by any means. The Switch version isn’t coming out this week, by the way, but it is coming.

Party Golf (Switch)

What is it? The first Tasmanian game to get released on the PS4 makes its way to the Switch.
Should you care? This’d be fun on the Switch. Also, it’s a locally made game.

The Jackbox Party Pack 4 (PC, PS4, XBO, Switch)

What is it? The Jackbox games returns with Fibbage 3 and four new games.
Should you care? Yes.

Fire Emblem Warriors (Switch, 3DS)

What is it? It’s Fire Emblem, but in the crazy hack and slash world of Dynasty Warriors.
Should you care? Depends on how much you love slashing thousands of irrelevant NPCs.

Gran Turismo Sport (PS4)

What is it? PlayStation’s flagship racing exclusive franchise returns.
Should you care? Definitely if you’re looking to make use of that shiny 4K HDR TV. Less so if your style of racing is the Forza Horizon.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole (PC, PS4, XBO)

What is it? It’s a new South Park game! And it hasn’t been banned or censored in Australia.
Should you care? Fuck yeah.

Dungeons 3 (PC, PS4, XBO)

What is it? An RTS where you take the role of an evil overlord building and maintaining a dungeon, training minions before sending them to conquer the overworld.
Should you care? It’s basically another indie Dungeon Keeper. I’ve bought it already on PC, but consoles will get it this week.

Don’t Knock Twice (Switch)

What is it? A horror game about a mother escaping a demonic witch while trying to connect with her estranged daughter.
Should you care? Who wants to play horror games in bed?

Those are the big hitters out this week, and there’s plenty of them: from Fire Emblem on the Switch, to a new South Park and GT Sport. Are you picking anything up, or waiting for the glut of releases next week?
