While Nintendo told Kotaku Australia that the refreshed Nintendo Switch would be appearing on store shelves from early spring, you don’t have to wait until September.
Following reports from Press Start that retailers had taken stock of the refreshed Nintendo Switch, users have reported being able to purchase the console in-store.
The refreshed model hasn’t been directly advertised yet, as retailers are still selling the original version for $399. But that’s started to change already, with EB Games tacitly advertising the new Switch and touting its bigger battery life in this $469 bundle:
The newer Switch model isn’t listed on the JB Hi-Fi site just yet, and the page still says that the Switch has a three hour charge when playing Breath of the Wild. But users have reported sightings of the new packaging, which looks like this:
Some have had success in acquiring the new model as well after chatting directly to staff. So if you’ve been holding out for a Switch, now’s the time to fire the bullet. If you need the serial number, make sure it starts with XKW. And if you need some games, fancy you should ask…
