Jimmy Fallon’s Most Consoles Played In One Minute Record Shattered

In July of 2010 late night talk show host Jimmy Fallon attempted to play 10 different games on 10 different consoles in one minute. He only played nine. Not 10, but still impressive, at least until Ohio’s Ryan Sullivan did 13.

Recorded in the RecordSetter Book of World Records, Ryan Sullivan’s record-breaking feat took place yesterday at anime convention Ohayacon. After a slow start and a bit of a mishap with the pause button in Street Fighter, Ryan managed to fire off his final shot in Missile Command for Atari 2600 at the last possible second.

What makes the feat even more impressive is Ryan’s game selection. Gex? Who plays Gex anymore, other than maybe comedian Dana Gould in between bouts of cradling the controller and weeping?

Check out the full list of games played below.

Super Nintendo: Super Mario World
Wii: Wii Sports Resort Bowling
Xbox 360: Super Street Fighter IV
GameCube: Super Smash Bros. Melee
NES: The Legend of Zelda
Dreamcast: Crazy Taxi
PlayStation: Gex
Sega Genesis: Sonic the Hedgehog
Xbox: Halo 2
PlayStation 2: Rolling Thunder (Namco Museum)
Sega Saturn: Revolution X
PlayStation 3: Tekken 3 (Think he means 6?)
Atari 2600: Missile Command

He also brings home the award for most time spent playing Revolution X this decade.

what were the conditions? what objective had to be met for each console before moving onto the next one? The reporting is getting sloppy here lately, actually, the whole site is getting a little messy and to much filler is being used.

    Keep up the good work!

Here are the rules for this record:
      - must make forward progress in each game
      - may not play any type of video game console more than once
      - must use consoles (handheld games and arcade model games not permitted)
      - must provide video evidence

Jesus, I get better writing from 4chan. This is atrocious.

For anyone interested, here’s the video.

The conditions seem to be that he had to perform one meaningful action in each game (kill an enemy, punch/kick an opponenet, pick up a passenger, etc)

Thanks for the link, the article’s a little bit pointless without a clip to accompany it.

That’s kind of silly. Forward progress can be pretty subjective. It wouldn’t be hard to break, all you have to do is load up a platformer on each console and run along pressing the dpad on each controller. You wouldn’t even have to pick the controller up to make forward progress.

Technically you could line up a bunch of consoles at the title screen and just run along a row hitting the start button. Forward progress! I reckon I could do 50-60.

If you think you can do it…you should! Only rules are:
        - must make forward progress in each game
        - may not play any type of video game console more than once
        - must use consoles (handheld games and arcade model games not permitted)
        - must provide video evidence
