1998′s much-lauded PC stealth game Thief has arrived at Good Old Games, where it can be downloaded for $US9.99. Thief is widely to be one of the most innovative, standard-setting sneaking games ever made.
GOG.com has announced that, over the next couple of months, it will be adding 25 classic EA games to its back catalogue, including classics such as Ultima Underworld, Peter Molyneux’s Dungeon Keeper, and Wing Commander: Privateer.
Yesterday we spoke to the Managing Director of Good Old Games, who flat out admitted that region based pricing for digitally distributed content was unfair. Now, quite possibly as a result of the Australian Witcher 2 fracas, Good Old Games has now updated its privacy policy and will no longer use Geo-IP to determine your region.
Roughly three weeks ago we reported that The Witcher 2 had been removed from Steam in Australia. Now, less than two weeks from its retail release, there is still no option to pre-order the game on Valve’s online service.
Yesterday, we learned that Good Old Games didn’t actually go down – they were just building a new site and decided to have a bit of mischeivous fun with it. They may have pissed a few fans off in the process, but it looks like the stunt worked. Shortly after the site went back up, it had trouble staying up – due to server demand.
