Game Glitch Causes Mass Nightmares

I love Mount & Blade. Sure, it’s a little rough around the edges, and its ugly as sin, but that’s just part of the charm. What other game lets you engage in 200-man battles with muskets and/or swords? Not enough, that’s how many.

Grab The Mount & Blade Collection Right Now For $7.49 (Usually $29.99)

Kotaku AU

No excuses! If you’ve found reason upon reason (“My pants are too short!”, “I have bad hair!” or “Frogs! I own far too many frogs.”) to give Mount & Blade a miss, this sale should obliterate most, if not all of them. Except for those of you with short pants — that’s just silly and you should be deathly ashamed.

First Stab At The World’s Premiere Medieval Shanking Simulator

I’ve been meaning to take a stab at free-form medieval RPG series Mount & Blade for years. YEARS. So it thrills me to say that I’m currently having an incredible time with Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword, the latest game in the series which came out last week.

Come Mount My Blade, Baby

Mount & Blade is like that quirky girl who sits behind you in art class – you don’t talk to her because you’re afraid the much-hotter girl who sits next to her won’t talk to you if she sees you talking to the quirky girl. The much-hotter girl in this case is The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, with its uber-amazing graphics and wide-open story land of medieval fantasy fun. Mount & Blade, like that quirky girl, has very little to do with Oblivion beyond the fact that they’re the same gender. It too, is a wide-open adventure for PC, but the similarities stop there as Oblivion persists in creating epic fantasy while Mount & Blade focuses on recreating realistic 14th century life.

Scared off already, huh? Shame on you; the quirky girl always has a great personality.

Paradox Interactive At GC – Project Mayhem?

World-renowned PC strategy developer and publisher Paradox Interactive is getting ready to bring their A games to the Games Convention 2008 is Leipzig this year, with a host of new titles and one mysterious mystery project. Probably their biggest title (so far) to be announced for the show is Majesty 2 – The Fantasy Kingdom Sim, the follow up the hilarious Majesty from 2000, which combined RTS gameplay with the most clichéd fantasy role-playing world ever created. They’ve also got Dark Horizon, the space combat sim I am more than a little excited about, Mount & Blade, an action RPG featuring realistic mounted combat, and Elven Legacy, a fantasy RTS.

They will also be revealing something they call Project Mayhem, which they simply describe as the “Next title developed by Paradox development team and their biggest production to date”. Got to love the big reveals. Looking forward to seeing exactly what Paradox has up their sleeves when McWhertor and I hit the show next week!
