What Are You Playing This Weekend?

Last night I made a decision. That decision came halfway through playing a game I really didn't want to play. A game I wasn't enjoying that much. I was playing this game for Shameless Gaming month, trying to reduce my pile of shame, but I had an epiphany...

I thought — instead of trying to spend the month playing and finishing lots of games — why not just pick the one game I've always wanted to invest time in, but always felt intimidated by. Why not spend the entire month just playing Dark Souls?

Yes. That is what I will do.

So this weekend, I will be mostly playing Dark Souls. What are you guys and girls going to play?

Just picked up Dragon's Dogma, so some of that, I guess.

Well, last weekend I finally finished Dragon Age Origins.. so this weekend, Dragon Age Origins Awakening and the DLC.

I have been trying to finish Dragon Age Origins, is there much further to go when you have completed the Mages Tower, Elves and Dwarf areas?

Not including the DLC, you're probably about 50-60% through.

Depends how many sidequests you want to do aswell.. After Redcliffe, Mages, Elves and Dwarves. There's the Landsmeet in Denerim and then the final battle.
I think I was up to about 30 hours played by the time I reached the final battle and I realised it was 3am and that I should probably be sleeping right about now 'cause I had to get up early the next morning. But that 30 hours includes a lot of sidequests, getting Shale, Warden's Keep and returning to Ostagar.
By the time I hit Denerim for the Landsmeet I was thinking, "I'm so close! screw the sidequests, gogogo."

Finally finished Borderlands last week - now running through the DLC I haven't done yet.

Who am I kidding I'll be either shooting people in BF3 or waiting for my lag to drop in Diablo 3.

I'll keep trying DE:HR. Really enjoyed it until the other night I got to the first boss. Haven't touched it since.

Power through, the bosses are truly crap, but the rest of the game is well worth it.

I started Alpha Protocol on PC last night as part of SGM. The sneak function just does not work, which was fine until my handler started ragging on me for not sneaking. Cool story, shitty, shitty gameplay.

Hard to argue with that, has some insanely cool character moments and decisions but it's the gameplay that lets it down. Plenty to like if you're in a forgiving mood.

Really? I liked the sneak function, can't really think of anyway it was broken.

I'll be continuing my playthrough of Motorstorm Apocalypse and maybe finally finish my evil playthrough of Infamous 2.

I was actually seriously considering digging out Dark Souls or Demon's Souls (not sure which one I should play if I only play one of them). Started playing Ys Origin earlier this week and was finding it pretty fun, but the gameplay is a little bit mindless until you get to the fairly difficult bosses and I'm not sure if I can stick with it the whole time.

    Dark/Demon Souls scares me... Skyrim!!!

Finished the Brotherhood, churning through the main story. Going to run over to the Companions and mop up some misc quests. Or... I could buy Portal 2 for 5 bucks...

Strongly considering picking up The Secret World. I haven't played an MMO in 5 years, but it looks like a lot of fun to just play casually (I don't really have the time in my life for serious MMO raiding anymore... and haven't for years, which is why I quit WoW).

The only game I really have available to "finish" (unless I go get DLC for something like ME3 or Kingdoms of Amalur) is Starhawk. I didn't quite finish the singleplayer, and I couldn't get into the multiplayer. Too disorganised. Unless someone wants to tell me that the Starhawk multiplayer scene has improved and is really fun now (and that they've fixed the bug where you can't even look at perks, much less change them, from the menu out of game)....

Well, I could also finish Disgaea on PSP. I've been playing that game on holidays for about 3 years and I'm nearly to the end... should I wait until summer to finish it?

Had the same idea, beating Dark Souls is a must. Having just lost my job I imagine I'm going to have a lot of time to do it :p

Hopefully making some more progress on Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Must ... punch ... everybody.
Also got convinced to try the beta for Path of Exile, so that'll probably get a bit more playtime as well.

Almost got the platinum for Lollipop Chainsaw. I'm going to get the last trophy on Magic 2013 (unlock 30 cards) and then dive into ME3 Extended Cut on NG+ with my canon paragade Femshep. It will be more awesome because my Bishoujo Liara T'Soni model arrived today :-D

I feel sorry for all you guys doing shameless gaming month... Steam sale is going to be bad for you =)

I have a stage to go on Demon's Souls, half of Dark Souls, and a quarter of War for Cybertron - then I will tackle one of the many games that I don't particularly care about, as punishment for buying them in the first place.

I'm playing Dark Souls too, it's a bit of a love/hate relationship I can't tell if I absolutely hate the game or love it

Personal plan: finish 999: 9 Persons, 9 Hours, 9 Doors tonight, and then some KotOR or Kingdom Hearts because I am in a bit of an old game mood.
