If an Xbox One X still doesn’t make much sense, $279 is a pretty decent deal for a 1TB Xbox One S and two very decent games on the side.

While ALDI has never really offered decent deals on PS4 consoles, they have had eyebrow-raising offers on Xbox One bundles from time to time. And recently one user at OzBargain spotted a pretty solid offering at a store in NSW: a 1TB Xbox One S, with Rainbow Six: Siege and Assassin’s Creed: Origins for $279.

A 1TB bundle at that price, and the newer Xbox One S instead of the bulky stock version, is pretty decent. But while I can’t vouch for what the Rainbow Six community is like on console, it’s a cracker of an FPS. And Origins is well worth the price the admission, and easily the best Assassin’s Creed game since Black Flag and the Ezio era. (AC2 is still my favourite, mind you.)

The price was originally marked down from $329, so the bundle should still be available in other ALDI stores. Stock is likely to be limited, but if you’re after a good console deal for *very* cheap, this plus a few months of Xbox Game Pass is good value for money. And one extra tip: don’t forget to use the photo above in case you need to price match.
