It’s really quite depressing that some people thrive on drama, so much so they feel the need to manufacture it. Such is the case for one user in the Pokemon GO Reddit community, who posted a supposed email from Niantic Labs’ customer support stating that the Apple Watch version of the popular game had been “shelved”. Fortunately, the developer was quick to debunk the rumour, calling the Reddit email a fake.
The original Reddit post from user called “hi1307” shows a support ticket response containing the sad — and untrue — news:
It was first called out by a Niantic representative, after TechCrunch’s Greg Kumparak got in touch with the company:
Thanks for checking with us! The image in that Reddit post is not real.
Development on Pokémon GO continues, as it has since before the Apple announcement. We’ll have more news on the product soon.
This was further confirmed by the official Pokemon GO Twitter account:
Pokémon Go for Apple Watch is coming soon. Stay tuned.

I think if anything about the port was undecided, Niantic wouldn’t have been so quick to kill the rumour (or at least, been so decisive in its response). Sure, the company might axe it in the future, but it appears to be full steam ahead for now.

It boggles my mind that people (a lot of people) spend their time manufacturing false news and posting on forums.
There is nothing funny or clever about it.
They must be truly sad and hollow individuals.
What boggles the mind even more is the fact that people still play this shit.

Anyone else see the irony in this statement?
Oh no someone said something about a game that wasn’t true… and they didn’t work in the industry or as a writer ‘covering’ that industry!
