Japanese publishers seem to have been struggling a little during the last couple of years, a point reiterated over and over again by Keiji Inafune in particular.
Well, a Japanese gaming blog has recently released figures counting down the most successful japanese games publishers in Japan, and Inafune’s former employers are relatively far down the list, coming in at number five.
Unsurprisingly, Nintendo dominates, selling over 12 million units of software in their home territory. That’s almost three times the unit sale of their nearest rival Square-Enix, over four and half million units, primarily on the Nintendo DS.
